Objectives

SIC has aimed to work as information hub for the countries of SAARC regions. The objectives of SIC are as follows:

1. Act as a nodal agency for collection of information of SAARC and its member states.
2. Works as facilitator in professional matters for print and electronic media
3. Coordinate radio and TV productions, facilitate research and conduct training and skill transfer activities.
4. Act as an Information Bank of SAARC and its member countries.
5. Forge stronger intra-regional links for co-operation and collaboration among the media of SAARC countries, and
6. Interact with the (SAARC Audio-Visual Exchange) SAVE, SAARC Regional Centres, SAARC Apex and recognized bodies and other programmes within SAARC.

Apart from above mentioned objectives, Governing Board can formulate additional objectives and programmes.
